Rev. Lloyd’s vision was that Lloydminster would be the centre of a region. St. John’s Minster was to be the “Mother Church” of many daughter churches in the surrounding rural areas (at one time more than a dozen). When he insisted that those naming the village in his honour, that they include the word “minster” to indicate that the community’s mission was to serve the entire region as one district. His vision came true and today Lloydminster is a service centre for a growing region.
