Canon Cross came from England in 1905 and was one of the first graduates from Emmanuel College in Saskatoon.
In 1929, he was one of the Charter Members of the Rotary Club of Lloydminster.
He served here through the depths of the Great Depression. In 1933, he was asked to take a reduction in his $125.00 monthly stipend, down to $100.00 a month. In the same year, a local fund raising effort raised a total of $1.00.
Son, Gordon became a clergyman and served in parishes from the Yukon to Sacramento,California.
